Education

The Laredo Center for the Arts provides a variety of education programs for the children and communities of Laredo/South Texas. Funding from the Lamar Bruni Vergara Trust in 2002 allowed the Center to greatly expand our arts educational offerings.



Children's Tour

Festivals:

Showcasing local heritage and local arts, the Center hosts festivals including: Dia de los Muertos in October.

Gallery Tours:

Tours of current exhibitions are available year-round. Tailored for each group, tours are led by trained leaders and may include: discussions on the elements of art and principles of design, artist biography, history of the Center, and an activity. Reservations required. No fee. Donations are welcome.

Outreach Visits:

Professional artists and art educators bring art workshops & presentations to classrooms and community groups, broadening awareness of fine arts and art history.

A visit may include:

• Demonstrations of artistic techniques by professional artists and educators.
• Slide show presentations that focus on art history, artist biographies, and learning what materials to use and how to use them.
• Information on Careers in the Arts.

Reservations required. No fee. Donations are welcome.
